[font=楷体_GB2312][size=12pt][color=#000000]龙泉寺座落在北京西山凤凰岭山脚下，始建于辽代应历初年，距今已有一千多年的历史。山门前两株遒劲的翠柏有六百多年，寺内还有两棵粗壮挺拔的银杏树和两株古柏，都已有千年树龄。原址坐西朝东，寺内一座独孔古石桥现今还保存完好，这是当年第一代住持继升和尚募化修建的，人称金龙桥。寺东百米有继升和尚塔，据说继升和尚圆寂那天，天空祥云万里，地面百鸟啼鸣，僧众诵经四十九天，该塔发出淡雅的檀香味持续三年之久。[/color][/size][/font]
[font=楷体_GB2312][size=12pt][color=#000000]龙泉寺附近有大觉寺、上方寺、黄普院、妙峰庵、朝阳洞等寺院遗址，在历史上这一地区佛教非常兴盛。龙泉寺背靠的凤凰岭历史上又称驻陛山、神山、老爷山，山上有许多闭关修行的山洞，如三佛洞、玄元洞、修仙椅、仙人洞等，其中石壁上凿刻的佛像还比较完整。[/color][/size][/font]
[font=楷体_GB2312][size=12pt][color=#000000]明末寺院逐渐衰落，至清乾隆后期，昌平州府在原寺东侧，以金龙桥为中轴线，将寺院改建为坐北朝南，原寺称“西寺”，统称龙泉寺。解放前，庙会兴盛，广东香客募捐，在桥南东院建万缘茶棚，施茶施粥，普结善缘。抗战时期，内忧外患，龙泉寺渐趋沉寂。[/color][/size][/font]
[font=楷体_GB2312][size=12pt][color=#000000]历经千年的风雨沧桑，千年古刹迎来新的曙光。1995年，随着凤凰岭风景区的旅游开放，当地政府及诸善信开始逐渐恢复寺院原貌。2005年4月11日，龙泉寺正式开放成为佛教活动场所，并迎请中国佛教协会副会长兼秘书长学诚法师主持寺务工作。这是北京海淀区建国以来第一所正式开放的三宝具足的佛教寺院。到目前为止，在政府及社会各界人士的支持下，龙泉寺已成功地举办了五次法会，规模逐渐扩大，反响越来越好。[/color][/size][/font]
